This morning, the sun came up with a glorious sight, something we hadn't seen in 4 days and about 800nm: land. Off our port hull was Nuka Hiva, the biggest of the Marquesas island. Under sail alone from Rangiroa, we made it to within 30 miles of the island....which was good, because the fuel we had probably would have only been good for 100 miles.  The wind shift we got yesterday helped big time and turning our NW course into a NE course that hooked us around the right direction.

Three highlights from the last passage:

  • Catching 4 fish in fewer hours
  • Drinking beers at Sunset in the bow nets with 8kts of wind
  • Movie: "Captain Ron"

First thing we did when we got in was get fuel. Next stop grocery store. Next stop laundry. Next stop enjoying the island before we leave for Hawaii shortly.
